Uses
Food:
It is included as a food additive under code E-220 / INS-220 and it is applied as a preservative for wines and beers, canned and bottled foods and dried fruit, in the maceration of cereals and in the clarification of sugar.
Others:
Water treatment (declorant), mining (reducing agent for cyanides and others), manufacture of flat glasses, anti-chlorine agent in textile industries and bleaching operations in general.
